Rosie the Riveter

Evidence suggests that Rosie the Riveter was actually based off of a black woman. Black women were often given the harder, dirtier, uglier jobs in factories during WWII. This image shows some of the harmful effects of the radiation women were subjected to when dealing with dangerous materials.
